| Fisker on target with Karma series hybrid |

  Fisker's first four-door should be on the road by the end of '09. Despite back-and-forth lawsuits involving Fisker, Tesla and other parties, the Karma is still projected to go on sale by the end of 2009. These supposed spy shots distributed by Fisker's marketing firm, show the sedan circling around a track for endurance testing.
When it arrives on the market, it is expected that the Karma will feature lithium-ion batteries powering the car. Once the 65 km (40 mi) range that the batteries supply is depleted, the Karma's gasoline engine will fire up to top up to batteries. It is expected that the engine will be about 1.4 litres in displacement, and will come from Volkswagen. Total range for the luxury sedan should be around 480 km (300 mi). The Karma ought to be a big hit for Fisker. The brand claims that they've already pre-sold 99 units, but is projecting annual sales to top 15,000 units once production is under way, with half of those units headed to Europe. Prices are expected to start in the $80,000 USD range |
